The drainage board is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), formed through heating and pressurization to create a drainage channel that provides structural support. This board combines water retention and drainage functions, featuring exceptional spatial rigidity. Its compressive strength significantly exceeds that of similar products (verified through on-site testing), capable of withstanding loads over 400 kPa. It can endure extreme loads during the mechanical compaction of backfill soil on planting rooftops. The board effectively facilitates internal drainage, discharges infiltrated water from the soil, and stores some of the infiltrated water.
Applications of the Drainage Board
- Landscaping Projects: Used in garage rooftop greening, rooftop gardens, vertical greening, sloped rooftop greening, football fields, and golf courses.
- Construction Projects: Applicable for upper or lower levels of building foundations, internal and external walls and floors of basements, and waterproofing and insulation layers on roofs.
- Transportation Projects: Ideal for road and railway subgrades, embankments, and slope protection layers.
- Municipal Projects: Used in airports, road subgrades, subways, tunnels, and landfills.
- Hydraulic Engineering: Suitable for reservoir seepage prevention, water storage pools, and artificial lakes.

Using
Advantages of the Drainage Board
- The drainage board can retain water, promoting healthy vegetation growth.
- With thicker sidewalls on the protruding points, it offers a high compressive strength, exceeding 40 tons. This is significantly greater than that of similar products like high-density polyethylene drainage boards and plastic drainage mesh mats (verified through practical compression tests), meeting the requirements for backfilling and normal operation.
- The drainage board has a large support surface, preventing blockage of drainage channels due to subsidence of the overlying non-woven fabric. It also avoids tearing from insufficient tension, which could allow soil to enter and block drainage pathways. This ensures the drainage space remains intact, preventing issues that could lead to wilting or death of plants due to poor drainage.
Installation Method for the Drainage Board
- After completing the waterproof layer and its protective layer, begin laying the drainage board. Ensure that the base drainage slope is between 2‰ and 5‰.
- Position the drainage board with the cup-shaped openings facing up, interlocking the perforations.
- Cover the top of the drainage board with geotextile, overlapping by 10 to 20 cm to prevent mud and water from passing through and clogging the drainage system, which could reduce water retention capacity.
- Lay down 10 to 20 mm of coarse sand on top of the geotextile to create a permeable filter layer that stops planting soil from washing away.
- Add a suitable thickness of planting soil on top.
- Protect the installed drainage board. Avoid placing heavy items directly on it, such as pushing carts. When transporting materials, use boards or pathways, and fill soil immediately after installation.
