Key Design Features

• Helical Teeth: The most defining characteristic is the helix angle of the teeth-typically ranging from 15° to 30°-which causes the teeth to engage gradually with mating gears, rather than all at once.
• Cylindrical Shape: Like straight gears, helical gears are cylindrical, but their tooth orientation allows for more efficient power transfer.
• Handedness: Helical gears are either right-handed or left-handed, depending on the direction of the helix. Mating helical gears must have opposite handedness to mesh correctly.

Advantages Over Straight Gears
