The key difference between plate chain and roller chain or sleeve chain lies in its rigid chain plate structure. The plate chain used in stackers typically has the following structural features: 
Chain Plate Design:
The chain links are composed of multiple high-strength steel plates that are stamped into shape. The chain plate is rectangular or has a special irregular shape (designed according to the load-bearing requirements). Adjacent chain plates are hinged together through pin shafts to form a flexible chain, but the overall rigidity is relatively strong.
The surface of the chain plate can be hardened (such as carburizing and quenching) or coated with wear-resistant materials (such as spraying polyurethane) to enhance the anti-wear performance (especially suitable for the lifting guide rails of frequently frictional stacker cranes).
Pin shafts and connecting components:
The pin shafts are usually made of alloy steel (such as 40Cr, 20Mn2), and are chrome-plated or nitrided on the surface to enhance corrosion resistance and wear resistance;
Some high-end chain links will be equipped with rollers or bushings (such as double-row roller structure), reducing the friction resistance between the chain plate and the guide rail, and improving the smoothness of operation (suitable for high-speed stacker cranes).
Attachment Integration:
Special attachments (such as fork hooks, loading platform connection plates) can be integrated according to the functional requirements of the stacker crane, directly carrying goods or connecting the working device of the stacker crane.
