Spur Gear Transmission relies on the meshing of the driving gear and driven gear to transmit motion and power. It is a type of gear operating between two parallel shafts. Spur gears are easily machined, capable of achieving high precision, and generate no thrust force (axial force) during transmission, making them one of the most commonly used gears in practical production and applications.
Spur gears are categorized based on tooth profile shape. During meshing, the entire tooth flank of each tooth engages simultaneously. The correct meshing conditions for spur gears are:
