Anti-static polyester needle felt with water and oil anti-repellent finish is a high-performance industrial filtering material. It is a composite needle felt processed through special techniques, integrating multiple properties such as anti-static, water resistance, oil resistance, and high-efficiency filtration. It is widely used in industrial dust removal, waste gas purification, and other fields.
I. Material and Process Basics
Base Material: Polyester
Polyester fibre (polyester) is used as the core raw material. It inherently boasts excellent mechanical strength (resistance to stretching and wear), good resistance to acids and alkalis (stable against most acid and alkali components in industrial waste gas), and a moderate temperature resistance range (usually 80-130°C for continuous use, with instantaneous temperature resistance up to 150°C). It is a cost-effective basic material in industrial filtration.
Process: Needle Felt
The "needle-punching forming" process is adopted: polyester short fibres or long fibres are carded into a web, then repeatedly punctured by hundreds of high-speed steel needles to entangle and interweave the fibres, forming a fluffy yet structurally stable felt-like material. This process endows the material with high porosity (ensuring air permeability) and large dust-holding capacity (extending the dust cleaning cycle), while the tight entanglement of fibres guarantees filtration precision (capable of intercepting micron-level dust particles).
II. Core Functional Properties
Anti-Static
By mixing conductive fibres (such as carbon fibres or metal wire fibres) into polyester fibres or applying a conductive coating on the surface, the material gains conductive properties, enabling it to effectively release static electricity generated by dust friction during filtration. This property is crucial in environments with flammable and explosive dust (e.g., coal powder, chemical powder, metal powder processing), as it can effectively prevent safety accidents like sparks or explosions caused by static accumulation.
Water and Oil Repellent Finish
Through special chemical treatments (e.g., impregnation with fluororesin or silicone coating), a low-surface-energy film is formed on the surface of the needle felt, making it difficult for water, oil, and other liquids to penetrate or adhere.
- Water resistance: Prevents "caking" (filter bag blockage and reduced air permeability) caused by water vapour entering the material in high-humidity environments.
- Oil resistance: Avoids dust adhesion to the filter material due to oil mist in exhaust gas (e.g., oil fumes from mechanical processing or food frying), maintaining filtration efficiency and extending service life.
