Ring chain sprockets (also known as round link chain sprockets) are drive wheels specially designed to mesh with round link chains (lifting / mining chains). Their core functions are as follows:

 

1. Torque Transmission: They transfer power from motors / reducers to drive the chain through the engagement between the sprocket teeth and chain links.
2. Material Traction / Conveying: In equipment such as scraper conveyors and bucket elevators, they drive the chain to realize horizontal or vertical material conveying.
3. Adaptation to Heavy-Duty Conditions: Specially designed for harsh working conditions in mining, building materials, lifting and other industries, they withstand high impact, heavy loads and continuous wear.

 

 

Structure and Key Design

 

1. Main Structure
    
   • Sprocket Body: Made of integrally cast/forged alloy steel, with anti-rust and wear-resistant paint sprayed on the surface. The interior is strengthened by heat treatment for excellent impact resistance and wear resistance.
   • Sprocket Teeth: The evenly distributed tooth-shaped protrusions in the image feature a specially designed profile, which can precisely fit into the gaps of the round link chain. This ensures smooth meshing without chain jumping or disengagement. Common tooth counts are 5/6/7/8 teeth.
   • Bore and Keyway: Used for connection with the drive shaft, the keyway transmits torque. The high-precision bore ensures installation coaxiality and reduces operating vibration.
    
2. Key Process Features
    
   • The tooth surface is treated by high-frequency quenching / overall quenching and tempering, achieving a hardness of HRC 50-58. This greatly improves wear resistance, with a service life more than 3 times that of ordinary sprockets.
   • The tooth profile is customized according to the pitch of the round link chain, preventing chain jamming and uneven wear, and adapting to different specifications of mining / elevator round link chains.
