Thanks to their short-pitch design (with a small distance between adjacent chain links) and the corrosion resistance of stainless steel, they are widely used in scenarios that have high requirements for precision, cleanliness, and environmental adaptability.

Core Structure and Material

Basic Structure: It follows the classic design of standard roller chains and consists of the following key components:

 

• Inner chain plates and outer chain plates: Connect adjacent chain links and transmit tension.
• Pins and bushings: Enable flexible rotation of the chain links and reduce friction.
• Rollers: Sleeved outside the bushings, they reduce contact wear when meshing with sprocket teeth and ensure smooth transmission.

 

The "short-pitch" feature (usually referring to a pitch ≤ 12.7mm, specifically defined in international standards such as ISO 606 or ANSI B29.1) makes it suitable for precision transmission from low to medium speeds, providing more uniform power transmission and higher motion accuracy.

Material Characteristics:
They are mainly made of austenitic stainless steel (such as 304 and 316 grades), which has the following advantages:

 

• Corrosion resistance: It can resist erosion from water, chemicals, salt spray, etc., and is suitable for humid, acid-alkali, or high-humidity environments.
• High and low temperature resistance: It can remain stable in the temperature range of -20ºC to 400ºC (some models can withstand higher temperatures), making it applicable to extreme temperature scenarios.
• Hygienic performance: It has a smooth surface, is not easy to breed bacteria, is easy to clean, and meets the hygiene standards of the food, pharmaceutical, and other industries.
• Strength and wear resistance: The hardness is enhanced through cold working or heat treatment, and it balances the tensile strength and wear resistance required for transmission (although it is slightly lower than high-strength carbon steel chains, it is more durable in specific environments).
