Oil absorption filter bag, also known as an oil-absorbing filter bag, is a specialised filtration product designed to efficiently separate oil from water or other liquid mixtures. It plays a crucial role in scenarios where oil contamination needs to be removed, ensuring the purity of the treated liquid and reducing environmental pollution.

Material & Structure

• Material: The core material is usually made of hydrophobic and oleophilic materials, such as polypropylene (PP) melt-blown fibre, polyester (PET) fibre, or modified acrylic fibre. These materials have a natural affinity for oil molecules while repelling water, allowing them to selectively absorb oil. Some high-performance oil absorption filter bags may also incorporate a supporting layer (e.g., non-woven fabric or mesh) to enhance structural strength and prevent material shedding.
• Structure: It typically adopts a multi-layer composite structure. The outer layer often acts as a pre-filter to intercept large particles and protect the inner oil-absorbing layer; the middle layer is the key oil-absorbing part, with a loose and porous structure to maximise the contact area with oil and improve absorption efficiency; the inner layer may have a filtering function to further purify the liquid after oil removal. The opening of the filter bag is usually reinforced with a plastic ring, stainless steel ring, or other materials to ensure a tight fit with the filter housing and prevent bypass leakage.

• Strong Oil Absorption Capacity: The porous structure of the material provides a large specific surface area, enabling it to absorb oil equivalent to several times or even dozens of times its weight. It can effectively absorb various oils, including mineral oil, vegetable oil, animal oil, and some organic solvents.
• Selective Absorption: It can selectively absorb oil while allowing water or other non-oil liquids to pass through, ensuring that the treated liquid is not unnecessarily retained and improving filtration efficiency.
• Good Retention Performance: Once the oil is absorbed, it is not easily released even under pressure, ensuring a stable oil removal effect.
