Self-Lubricating Roller Chains are a type of transmission chain that can achieve continuous lubrication without frequent external oiling. Through special material design or surface treatment, they form a long-lasting lubrication mechanism on friction contact surfaces, making them suitable for industrial scenarios that are difficult to maintain, require high cleanliness, or have a lot of dust.
The lubrication function of self-lubricating roller chains is realized through a "built-in lubricant source", with the key lying in the self-lubricating design of the friction contact surfaces. When the chain is in operation, the friction between the chain pins and bushings, as well as between the rollers and sprockets, will promote the slow release of the built-in lubricant (solid or liquid), forming a lubricating film with a low friction coefficient on the contact surfaces, thereby reducing wear and heat generation. The "release" of the lubricant is usually driven by frictional pressure, temperature rise, or the material's own properties (such as the adsorption and release capacity of porous structures), without the need for manual intervention.
